Assamese Singer Bhupen Hazarika life story

 

He was born on 8 September 1926 in Shadia. He received his schooling in Guwahati and Tezpur He graduated from Cotton College, Guwahati. A. He passed the examination and obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Varanasi Hindu University. He later graduated from Columbia University in education. He received his Bachelor's degree from the same university and his Ph.D. H.S. D.Sc. He received the title. B.Sc. He taught at Baroda College and Guwahati University and served at the Guwahati Radio Station. He is a singer, songwriter, and film director who has been acclaimed not only in Assam or India but also in various parts of the world. He made his film debut in 1956 with the film Erabat Suro and directed eight Assamese, one Bengali, and one Hindi film. Some of these are Shakuntala (1961), Pratidhani (1964), Latighati (1966), Chikmik Bijuli (1969), and Chiraj (1988). He also composed music for hundreds of films in Bengali, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Karbi, Boro, and Malayalam languages. There are nine documentaries directed. Several of them. He acted in films. Edited journals: 'Our Representative', 'B', 'Echoes', etc. He has written more than fifty books. Dr. Hazarika received more than half a hundred awards at home and abroad.



These include the President's Silver Medal, the National Award for Best Music Director, the Dadasaheb Fandhe Award, the Padma Bhushan, and the Sahityacharya Award of the Assam Sahitya Sabha. He passed away on 5 November 2011 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.

Dr. Hazarika's poems have occupied a special place in the history of modern Assamese and Indian lyric poetry. He has been able to create a very touching appeal by capturing the various emotions of the human heart as well as nature and human society and culture through his music.
