Three shudders, including two estimating 6.0 on the Richter scale, struck west of the super port city of the Hormozgan region, the US Geological Survey said.
The principal quake of the seismic tremor was felt at 2 pm, shaking a region north of the city of Deegan. After two hours, another tremor was estimated at 5.7 on the Richter scale followed by one more on the Richter scale.
Hormozgan Governor Mehdi Dowsti told state news organization IRNA that five individuals were killed in the shudder. A town close to the focal point was totally obliterated.
